The Greater Curve "wide" is 9 mm at the center.

The band can be modified intraorally or extraorally. Extraoral
Modifications:
Trimming with cuticle scissors to modify for a deep
proximal box.
Modified utilizing composite finishing carbide
for deep mesial and distal proximal boxes. Use of the
Greater Curve "wide" on a posterior molar.

#19 with a very deep subgingival distal box prep.

Greater Curve "wide" in place.
Opening made to establish distal contact.
Superior isolation.

Do most of your shaping with the matrix left in place.
Helps guide the finishing carbide.
Makes for easier matrix removal.

Final restoration #19. Use of the Greater
Curve "wide" on upper anterior teeth.

Apple core preps #'s 8 & 9.

Greater Curve "wide" placed over #9.
Triad Gel secures matrix over #'s 6 & 7.

Greater Curve "wide" cut back to provide access.
Modification made intraoral. Note excellent isolation.

#9 ready for shaping.

Intraorally trimmed "wide" band placed around #8.
Contact openings made mesial and distal. Note how the
matrix is tall enough to segregate the interproximals.

Two advantages to leaving the
matrix in place when doing initial shaping.
